    HUBER+SUHNER has completed its RADOX® MFH-S cable family with cross-sections of up to 6mm2. These cables are suitable for installation on ships and on oil and gas platforms. Their special product features make them unique on the market.

    Major project for HUBER+SUHNER: Bombardier awards TWINDEXX contract

    Following a successful pilot series, HUBER+SUHNER has now officially been awarded the contract to provide the cabling for a total of 59 TWINDEXX Swiss Express double-deck trains with 436 carriages. Bombardier and HUBER+SUHNER signed the five-year contract for series production, worth around 26 million Euros in order volume. First deliveries are set to take place in the second half of 2015. There is also an option to provide cabling for additional trains.

    HUBER+SUHNER introduces measures due to the currency crisis

    The company already responded to the currency crisis in January with a recruitment freeze, a salary freeze for 2015 in Switzerland, and various cost savings measures. With the consent of its employee representatives, HUBER+SUHNER has now decided to implement further measures. In line with the SWISSMEM collective employment contract, the weekly working hours will be increased for 12 months from 40 to 43 hours, starting 1 March. In addition, the target salaries for the Executive Group Management will be reduced by 10% and by 5% for other management functions. The Board of Directors will waive 10% of its remuneration.

    Setting the course for the future, HUBER+SUHNER is planning three changes to the company's operational management team in the course of this year. On 1 May 2015, Drew Nixon will take over the leadership of Global Sales from Paul Harris, while Patricia Stolz will succeed Urs Alder as the new head of Human Resources on 1 July 2015. The IT department will be integrated into Corporate Operations under the leadership of Dr Ulrich Schaumann as of 1 April 2015. All three new members of the Executive Group Management have already been serving HUBER+SUHNER for several years.


  • IPEMU Prototype completes six-week passenger trials in the UK

    Network Rail and Bombardier Transportation have just completed testing Britain’s first battery-powered passenger train. Till mid-February the train was running in passenger service in Essex. The carriages are fitted with HUBER+SUHNER harnesses for power transmission.
