Travellers are already used to watching movies or gaming on planes – in China, this is now possible on CRH 380 type high-speed trains. HUBER+SUHNER has supplied various radio-frequency coaxial cables for the new passenger entertainment system on these trains.
CRH 380 type high-speed trains on the Shanghai–Hangzhou and Beijing–Shanghai lines reach speeds of up to 350 kilometres per hour.
Changchun Railway Vehicle Co. and Tangshan Railway Vehicle Co. decided to equip a total of one hundred 8 train units (800 carriages in total) on these high-speed trains with a passenger entertainment system. For this system, HUBER+SUHNER delivered 10,000 metres of GX07272 coaxial cable. This was routed through all the carriages as a backbone cable in order to transmit the data through the entire train. In addition, 200,000 metres of GX03272 and GX4273 cable were installed to serve as network cables for the individual devices in each car.
Thanks to their RADOX® sheath material, the coaxial cables are extremely rugged and also highly resistant to temperature. In addition, they are halogen-free and offer unique flame resistance with minimal smoke development. The cables also guarantee reliable signal transmission even when subjected to constant vibrations, knocks and impacts. Due to these properties, coaxial cables from HUBER+SUHNER are ideal for use in trains, and were therefore the customers' first choice.
Thanks to the new entertainment system with cables from HUBER+SUHNER, passengers can now watch movies or play games on the trains to help pass the time.
