Configurators & calculators

RF assembly configurator

  1. Information
The RF Assembly Configurator provides an overview of possible standard HUBER+SUHNER RF assembly variants. It provides product information about the available components, which include coaxial cables, connectors and labelling sleeves.

  2. Configure
The cables and connectors can be individually configured in a subsequent step. The user is free to configure the product to their requirements, from specifying the cable length to selecting the appropriate labelling sleeve. A quotation can then be requested for all the defined assemblies.

RF assembly calculator

The RF Assembly Calculator allows an easy comparison of up to three out of more than 320 HUBER+SUHNER radio frequency cables in different configurations and environments. It offers a straight access to technical specifications such as insertion loss and power rating. Furthermore it allows extended calculations of individual cable constructions.

Apart from that it shows the relation between RF specific values like impedance, wavelength, return loss (VSWR) and signal delay including their conversion and allows extended calculations. Results and graphs can be easily exported to PDF and sent by e-mail.

Features included

  • Reflection measurement (Return loss – VSWR)
  • Frequency wavelength (Wavelength calculation)
  • Signal delay (Signal delay – Dielectric constant – Velocity in % of speed of light)
  • Impedance dimension (calculation of impedance of coaxial line)
  • dB Calculator (dB Ratio / Watt – dBm)

EMP protector

The EMP protector tool box is subdivided in four parts:

  • EMP protector selection program: The EMP protector selection program helps you to find the best suitable surge protector, lightning protector or EMP protector based on five given input parameters, such as passing DC voltage, specification of passive intermodulation (PIM), the system impedance, the lower or the upper frequency band limits.
  • GDT selection program: The GDT selection program is a tool which helps you to select the best suitable gas discharge tube based on RF CW power, DC supply voltage, VSWR and impedance of the antenna feeder line.
  • HEMP calculator: The HEMP calculation program simulates the worst case coupled transient voltage and current of high altitude nuclear pulses (H)EMP into monopole and dipole antennas. The program is working with seven unclassified electromagnetic pulse standards. It calculates and plots the selected transient pulse response (voltage/current and energy).
  • Connector RF power chart: Finally the connector and RF power window opens a graph which shows the admissible RF (CW) power vs. frequency of the nine most common interfaces used for lightning/EMP protectors.

Power design tool for remote head installations

Output, current and voltage calculations are required when installing new mobile communication antennas, upgrading existing networks and reusing existing cable infrastructures. The power design tool for remote radio head installations and mobile communication antennas makes these calculations easier for engineers.

The calculator takes into account all possible parameters, including cable length, conductor cross-section, voltage at the base station and RRH, electricity power consumption of the remote radio head, and ambient temperature.

ODF patching guide

The interactive LISA patching guide supports installers and system integrators in implementing the LISA side access system into the data center environment. Choosing the corresponding LISA modules, the patching guide will show the recommended patch cord length and the recommended routing path either within a single rack (LISA 900, LISA 1500) or within three side-by-side racks (LISA 1500).
