Wireless/cellular connectivity
Efficient and service securing power transmission is a very important topic in today’s energy market. To achieve this, many controlling and measuring devices connected to a TCP/IP based network are required. Since these devices are often placed in locations where direct data cabling is not possible or expensive, a wireless connection is often the better choice.
Connection in this content can for example be a link to one of the widely available cellular networks (2G, 3G, 4G or 5G), to a proprietary Wi-Fi network, or to a LPWA (low-power wide-area) network.
Building such a connection with the requirement of high reliability, long life time and a minimum of required maintenance, increases requirements of the used antennas and passive components. Besides the electrical parameters (e.g. frequency bands), also other properties, as for example shock and vibration, or salt water resistance, must be considered.
Antenna cabling normally has a focus on easy installation, flexibility, low losses and fulfilling environmental requirements. The latter can include water tightness, oil-/ and radiation resistance. For protecting the active equipment, also lightning protectors are required in the transmission path.
HUBER+SUHNER provides a complete product portfolio of antennas, RF-coaxial cables, coaxial connectors and assemblies, and lightning protectors. The portfolio includes many industry specific products fulfilling the needs in the energy market.

HUBER+SUHNER TNC connectors are threaded RF connectors applicable from DC up to 11 GHz. 50 ohm TNC and 75 ohm TNC connectors are intermateable without restrictions.
HUBER+SUHNER is offering a wide range of adapters in various configurations like within series or between series, straight or angled designs and some with panel mount features. Adapters can also be custom designed in accordance with your application specific requirements.
Foam radio frequency cables
The product series Spuma, S and SX provide lowest attenuation, high flexibility and optimal shielding. Products from the Spuma series are similar to the LMR® products from Times Microwave. The series with LSFH jacket material and the radiation crosslinked SX series with the RADOX® jacket offer extremely high flame protection.
Performance radio frequency cables
The PTFE/FEP cables of our RG/K series are designed for applications up to 200 °C and are characterised by low losses, especially at high frequencies. The Enviroflex cables do not contain fluorine plastics either in the dielectric nor in the jacket and thus provide a robust and environmentally friendly option.
Special radio frequency cables
Some products cannot be allocated in any of the three main lines. They are consolidated in the speciality cable line. It includes special designs like odd impedance, twinax or triax cables. A selection of low-noise coax and triax cables is also available. Cables with special qualification, for instance in accordance with railway norms like EN 45545 or in accordance with UL are also listed in this section.
Gas discharge tube (GDT) protectors
HUBER+SUHNER gas discharge tube (GDT) technology based protectors are generally designed as coaxial feed-through devices for 50 or 75 ohm systems. GDT technology based protectors feature DC/AC continuity for remote powering and large bandwidth.
