The Group’s focus on the attractive Communications, Transport and Industry markets has paid off in the first half-year of 2004. In all three target markets, HUBER+SUHNER grew at double-digit rates with their continued business activities.

The revival of capital spending on mobile radio networks and the existing pent-up demand allowed the Group to grow by 13 percent in the Communications market segment. Industrial applications grew at an even higher rate of over 19 percent. The favourable market conditions in this field – in conjunction with the successful broadening of the customer base – set off a sharp rise in demand. In the Transport market segment, the Group continued its successful development of the past years, boosting turnover by 13 percent over a year ago. This was made possible by additional successes in the field of Railways and the strengthening of the position in the Automotive market.
