HUBER+SUHNER introduces measures due to the currency crisis

The company already responded to the currency crisis in January with a recruitment freeze, a salary freeze for 2015 in Switzerland, and various cost savings measures. With the consent of its employee representatives, HUBER+SUHNER has now decided to implement further measures. In line with the SWISSMEM collective employment contract, the weekly working hours will be increased for 12 months from 40 to 43 hours, starting 1 March. In addition, the target salaries for the Executive Group Management will be reduced by 10% and by 5% for other management functions. The Board of Directors will waive 10% of its remuneration.

Changes in the HUBER+SUHNER Executive Group Management

Setting the course for the future, HUBER+SUHNER is planning three changes to the company's operational management team in the course of this year. On 1 May 2015, Drew Nixon will take over the leadership of Global Sales from Paul Harris, while Patricia Stolz will succeed Urs Alder as the new head of Human Resources on 1 July 2015. The IT department will be integrated into Corporate Operations under the leadership of Dr Ulrich Schaumann as of 1 April 2015. All three new members of the Executive Group Management have already been serving HUBER+SUHNER for several years.

IPEMU Prototype completes six-week passenger trials in the UK

Network Rail and Bombardier Transportation have just completed testing Britain’s first battery-powered passenger train. Till mid-February the train was running in passenger service in Essex. The carriages are fitted with HUBER+SUHNER harnesses for power transmission.

HUBER+SUHNER significantly increases sales and order intake – the communication market in Asia is the biggest driver of growth

HUBER+SUHNER increased its net sales in the 2014 financial year by 4% to CHF 749 million. In organic growth terms (in local currency, without copper effect and portfolio effect neutralised) this actually represents an increase of 4.9%. Developments in order intake were even more dynamic, with a rise of over 12% to CHF 768 million.

General Motors issues official approval for HUBER+SUHNER cable families

The RADOX® 155S FLR (cross-sections 0.35 mm2 – 6 mm2) and RADOX 155 (cross-sections 8 mm2 – 120 mm2) from HUBER+SUHNER have been approved for use in General Motors (GM) vehicles with immediate effect. The cables can be used as battery connections and to supply power to peripherals such as the air-conditioning or parking systems. The RADOX® 155S FLR is already installed in some GM vehicles as the control cable for the direct fuel injection system.
