Amir Burazerovic loves his work. Customers sense his enthusiasm. Since emigrating to the USA, the man from Bosnia-Herzegovina has been doing a great deal for HUBER+SUHNER. What’s more, he has good reasons to stay on the ball here.
In 1992 Amir Burazerovic left his homeland of Bosnia-Herzegovina as the result of the outbreak of war and went to Germany. Seven years later when looking for a new challenge, he emigrated for the second time, this time to the USA. He came across a company called HUBER+SUHNER close to his place of residence and was convinced that it was a German company. “I thought it would be an opportunity to use my German at work until my English improved”, Burazerovic remembers. At the time, the company was looking for technicians in the field of fiber optics, and a large number of working documents were actually compiled in German. In the following years, Amir Burazerovic worked in various positions, among others as a radio frequency technician and in product testing until he found his current role five years ago. As a field application engineer, he provides customers with technical support and advises them on choosing the right products. He is responsible for all market segments in the South Eastern and Mid-Atlantic regions of the USA. “It’s this diversity which fulfils me”, says Burazerovic. “Each day brings something new; I have to maintain an overview of our entire range of products.”
Then it is also the innovative products and their quality that inspire the employee at the US head office. “I am proud that I work for the market leader”, he explains and also of being part of a team which is responsible for this success. He draws his everyday motivation from the numerous success stories: Being able to help customers, receiving positive feedback, working well together with internal and external partners. “That is the only reason why I have been with the company for 14 years and I’m certainly not thinking of changing”, says Burazerovic laughing. Then he adds: “If you approach each day with passion, there are virtually no limits to what you can achieve, and you can develop yourself on an ongoing basis.”
