Automation technicians build electrical control systems, apparatus, machines, plants or automation systems in collaboration with other specialists, put them into operation or carry out maintenance work. They plan and programme solutions for control and automation tasks. They prepare the corresponding instructions and documentation.

Polymechanics manufacture workpieces, make tools and devices for production or assemble devices, apparatus, machines or systems. They work on orders or projects in cooperation with other specialists, develop design solutions and prepare technical documents, build prototypes and carry out tests. They are involved in commissioning, planning and monitoring production processes or carry out maintenance work. Polymechanics are characterised by economic and ecological thinking and action. They carry out their orders and projects systematically and independently. They are also used to working in a team, are flexible and open to new ideas. They observe the principles of occupational safety, health protection and environmental protection.

The apprenticeship as a physics laboratory technician is one of the broadest basic technical training programmes. Physics laboratory assistants carry out physical measurements and series of experiments with materials and systems. They set up experimental equipment, prepare and carry out experiments and document them.

Design engineers develop and design individual parts and assemblies for devices, machines or systems as well as tools and devices for production in cooperation with other specialists. Furthermore, they process orders, specifications or parts of projects, prepare production, assembly and test documents and compile the necessary production data. Plastics technologists process polymer materials into semi-finished and finished products and set up machines and production lines. They also optimise production and maintain production facilities, machines and tools. In cooperation with other specialists, they process orders and projects and carry out tests.

Logisticians have the basic skills and abilities to safely perform the tasks in the professional fields of distribution, warehousing and transport. They advise customers and help shape communication and IT processes. For the independent and competent execution of individual tasks, logisticians have practical and technical manual dexterity and an interest in organisational and planning tasks. They are particularly characterised by a customer-friendly attitude, social commitment, appropriate flexibility, physical resilience and ecologically sustainable thinking and action.

Surface coaters plan processes in connection with the treatment of different material surfaces. They mainly carry out work with electroplating processes, but also with alternative surface coating technologies, in accordance with the client's specifications. Their work is carried out professionally, according to economic and ecological aspects.
