New LC-XD Connector Doubles Fiber Density and Improves Handling

HUBER+SUHNER sees clear upward trend in second half year – boom in Fiber Optics division continues

In the second half of 2012, order intake and net sales achieved significantly higher values than in the corresponding period of the previous year. Overall net sales amounted to around CHF 697 million, corresponding to a shortfall of 8% compared with the previous year. By contrast, order intake slightly exceeded that of the previous year (around CHF 748 million, +2%). In terms of net sales, the trend reversal started around the middle of the year, in terms of order intake it already started at the beginning of the second quarter. The book-to-bill rate reached a value of 1.07. Strengthened by the acquisition of Astrolab, HUBER+SUHNER takes the positive momentum forward into 2013 and anticipates a good start to the new financial year.

HUBER+SUHNER strengthens its position in radio frequency high tech niches by acquiring Astrolab, Inc.

As of 28 December HUBER+SUHNER acquired the assets of Astrolab, Inc. based in Warren, New Jersey at a non-disclosed price. The deal will be financed from own resources. With its patented minibend® and microbend® cable assemblies Astrolab is mainly active in high tech niche markets like space & defence and offers high end radio frequency solutions for industrial markets.

Energaia 2012 - HUBER+SUHNER presents the new modular junction box with integrated safety feature

In collaboration with Mersen, HUBER+SUHNER is developing a safety system for the prevention of fires in PV installations. A smart junction box is part of the system. It is based on the RADOX® SolarBox HM0 by HUBER+SUHNER. Mersen is presenting this jointly-developed solution at Energaia 2012 in Montpellier.
