In today's rapidly evolving business climate, companies need to keep their digital network infrastructure up to date. New devices and services need to be tested and certified for quality, reliability and security of network services in various test procedures before they are integrated into the active live structure to avoid disruptions or outages. The areas of application are diverse, ranging from mobile data networks and telecommunications infrastructures to industrial applications, financial sectors and logistics.

Whereas previously time-consuming, manual test procedures were often necessary to verify network devices, an automated, user-configurable fiber optic level can now be used, allowing test runs or reconfigurations to be carried out within seconds instead of hours or days.

In mobile networks in particular, new devices or even completely new network structures must be validated promptly or network problems must be reproduced, diagnosed and rectified quickly. In both radio frequency (RF) and transport networks (usually fiber optic networks), the test labs have to simulate scenarios in order to find effective solutions.

The Polatis OCS has a very low insertion loss with low statistical variance and enables the use of a large number of connections.
