Radio Frequency components used in the Wi-Fi hotspot on the Fan Mile in Berlin

September saw the start of the pilot phase of a public gigabit Wi-Fi access point on the famous Fan Mile in Berlin, Germany. HUBER+SUHNER is providing Wi-Fi antennas and coaxial cables, thus playing its part in enabling users in the area to surf, chat and stream for free for 30 minutes.

Future mobile networks will deliver much more. Because networks are evolving and upgrading constantly, HUBER+SUHNER is delivering network infrastructure to support this evolution to 5G:

  • We concentrate on solutions which maximise the use of existing infrastructure while providing the lowest possible latency with highest possible bandwidth connections.
  • We are delivering a physical layer network, that is agnostic to current and future new radio vendors ensuring maximum interoperability.
  • We aim to design solutions with our customer that which manage a highly densified network with 1000's of emerging end points at the remote end, whilst making sure the central part is able to grow accordingly by managing the fiber efficiently.
  • Our overall goal is to simplify, hence lower the cost, of cell site and C-RAN deployment and maintenance.
Our solutions support the build-up of central locations such as C-RAN sites, remote radio installations, indoor and outdoor small cells as well as indoor and outdoor distributed antenna systems. But we also deliver solutions that increase capacity or make the physical optical layer reconfigurable.
