At HUBER+SUHNER, innovation drives everything we do. As networks evolve to meet unprecedented data demands, ribbon cable technology has become a cornerstone for high-density fiber connectivity. To strengthen our expertise and deliver future-ready solutions, we hosted an intensive Ribbon End-to-End training on 18–19 November 2025, combining technical knowledge, hands-on practice, and strategic insights.

Day 1: Building the foundation- Understanding the Ribbon ecosystem

The first day focused on understanding the ribbon ecosystem and HUBER+SUHNER’s comprehensive portfolio. Participants explored the full spectrum of ribbon technology: 


  • Ribbon cable fundamentals – Exploring the advantages of ribbon technology. 
  • Portfolio deep dive: LISA, IANOS, and RSB solutions
  • Cable systems – Ribbon vs. non-ribbon configurations, including trunks, harnesses, and jumpers. 
  • Polarity & splicing techniques 
  • Roadmap insights 
  • Future configurations – Multimode ribbon, 16-way ribbon, Base-8 setups
  • Future products – Optibox Ribbon, OptiSlim 576, Pre-term LISA chassis
  • Real-world use cases – Shared by sales experts, showcasing practical applications.

Day 2: Hands-on expertise and market strategy

The second day was all about practical experience and strategic outlook:


  • Ribbon splicing theory – Covering splice machines, holders, fiber pitches, and diameters.


Hands-on tutorials: 

  • Ribbon splicing & ribbonising
  • Fiber coiling for LISA and IANOS
  • Cable stripping & protection tube handling 
  • Testing and quality assurance 
  • Competitive learning – A splicing speed challenge added a fun twist to the day.
