Plant and control room

Systems such as slide gates, the water level, the emergency release and the dam wall load must be controlled and monitored remotely for hydroelectric plants. Fiber optics are ideal for monitoring systems over large distances. HUBER+SUHNER supplies smart cabling solutions which significantly facilitate the installation of a communication network including fieldbus and enable data to be transmitted reliably in harsh environmental conditions. From a central station control point, the cables are installed to sub-control points and then further to various smart electronic devices. The plug-and-play system is used on site without any additional installation work and delivers cost-effective maintenance and service. In addition, the control centre of a power plant faces a number of challenges. A high volume of data must be processed and the complex interplay of producers, storage systems and consumers must ensure a perfect, uninterrupted energy supply. Reliable, bespoke products from HUBER+SUHNER provide suitable solutions for this purpose. Regardless of whether connectivity is required via radio frequency solutions or fiber optic-based systems, the wide product portfolio supports current and future applications.
