Signal and energy transmission
Most sensors, actuators, pumps and systems today are still operated using conventional signal and power cables. These are used to transfer 0/4-20 mA, 0/2-10 V and pulse signals, for example. Apart from two-wire devices, all devices require a voltage supply which is transferred using power cables. These cables must be suitable for potentially explosive concepts (for example inherently safe or pressure-encapsulated).
HUBER+SUHNER has a wide range of halogen-free, fire-resistant and fire-retardant signal and power cables which can replace conventional RFOU or BFOU cables, offering both space saving and weight advantages of at least 50%.
As a result of their significantly smaller diameters, the cables are much easier to install which can significantly reduce installation costs. This is visible by the much smaller bending radii, cable glands and cable ducts. All cables meet the required approvals under NEK606 (oil resistance) as well as DNV, ABS and BV marine approvals.
The electron-beam crosslinked cable sheath surface can withstand very high temperatures. In normal operating temperatures, this results in a service life that is up to eight times longer than conventional cables.

HUBER+SUHNER is the global leader for remote radio installation solutions. We have a comprehensive offering of FTTA (fiber-to the-antenna), PTTA (power-to-the-antenna) and HTTA (hybrid-to-the-antenna) products, which are tailored to the customer’s needs. We advise operators about which installation methods are available and what their advantages are. We are experts on how to make savings on installation costs and how expensive follow-up costs can be saved. HUBER+SUHNER implements future-proof passive cable network infrastructures, which are compatible with all system vendor products and endure the future generations of active equipment.
Front access fiber management systems
The LISA front access system is focused on speed of installation and network security during installation or maintenance. The LISA front access system represents a modular group of products that enables seamless connection of passive optical networks especially in central office environments. Reliability and performance are key to the success of our industry which is why we have ensured that the highest level of fiber protection and bend-radius limitation are standard across all front access system solutions. The center piece of the front access system is a unique and versatile compact module that can be used for pigtail, direct cable splicing or for the integration of pre-connectorised passive components such as splitters.
LISA compact modules for MultiCircuit (MCM) applications combine simple installation and maximum security within an optical network. An integrated loose tube storage facility in each module allows easy removal of the splicing machine without disturbing neighbouring modules. In telecommunication environments, the compact module is particularly suitable for simple physical connections between the equipment and the passive infrastructure by means of inter-connect or cross-connect.
HUBER+SUHNER offers a wide range of Optical Distribution Frames (ODF) and 19" equipment cabinets to meet all requirements. HUBER+SUHNER’s comprehensive range of equipment cabinets is designed to fulfil the diverse needs of the typical data center operator. The cabinet range is based around a common construction of anodised aluminium extrusions which match the innovative CDR passive optical rack system.
