Mid size connectors

HUBER+SUHNER connector series 4.3-10, N, UHF and C are mainly used for connections with a cable assembly to a panel. The different connector series offer a wide range of products suitable for various applications (indoor and outdoor).

HUBER+SUHNER 4.3-10 connectors offer very low PIM performance together with weight and compactness advantages. A key feature of this connector is the separation of the electrical and mechanical plane, which results in a lower coupling torque and the possiblility of offering the connector with screw, hand-screw and quick-lock design, thus simplifying the installation effort and offering for all mechanisms a very high and reliable electrical performance independently from the torque applied.

4.3-10 Plus

The 4.3-10 Plus interface is for applications which carry risk of a Mini Din/4.1-9.5 male connector accidently mating with a 4.3-10 female interface. 4.3-10 Plus interface is based on the standard IEC 4.3-10 specification but with a slight modification of dielectric inside the outer conductor which makes the 4.3-10 Plus interface more robust and fully prevents the male Mini Din/ 4.1-9.5 connector from entering and damaging the 4.3-10 female. The 4.3-10 Plus female connectors are fully compatible with all standard 4.3-10 male connectors.

HUBER+SUHNER C connectors are medium size RF connectors with two-stud bayonet mechanism which allows quick and easy coupling and decoupling. The C connectors provide 50 ohm impedance and the frequency range (connector interface) is specified for applications up to 11 GHz.

N 50 Ω / N 75 Ω

N 50 Ω / N 75 Ω

HUBER+SUHNER N connectors are available with 50 ohm and 75 ohm impedance. The frequency range extends to 18 GHz, depending on the connector and cable type. The screw-type coupling mechanism provides a sturdy and reliable connection. HUBER+SUHNER N connectors are available for flexible cables, for semi-rigid cables and for corrugated copper tube cables. Cable entries: clamp, crimp and solder types available, as well as HUBER+SUHNER Quick-Fit for corrugated copper tube cables.

UHF

UHF

UHF connectors do not have defined impedance. They are intended for applications up to 200 MHz where mechanically robust connectors are required. They are mateable with 4 mm banana plugs.

Large size connectors

HUBER+SUHNER 7/16 connectors are mechanically rugged coaxial connectors up to 7.5 GHz with a screw-type coupling mechanism.

HUBER+SUHNER 7/16 connectors are mechanically very rugged coaxial connectors with screw lock. They have a characteristic impedance of 50 ohm and are applicable with excellent electrical properties up to 7.5 GHz. Transmission of medium to high power with radio transmitters and low PIM transmission of received signals such as in mobile phone base stations are typical applications.

Quick-lock connectors

HUBER+SUHNER QMA and QN connectors have a quick-lock coupling mechanism. QMA and QN are easy to mate and allow a high packaging density because no tools are needed.

HUBER+SUHNER QMA coaxial connectors are in accordance with QLF standard and available with 50 ohm impedance. The frequency range extends to 18 GHz, depending on the connector and cable type. However most of the QMA connectors are return loss optimised for frequencies up to 6 GHz. The interface is based on the SMA dimension but instead of a threaded coupling mechanism a new snap-lock mechanism is used. The QMA interface has a very similar performance to the SMA, but in addition it offers an easier, faster and safer coupling operation, helping customers to save significantly time during production. The packaging density of QMA is increased compared to SMA connectors thanks to the fact that no torque spanner is required to fasten the coupling nut. QMA is not intermateable with SMA. QMA connectors are also available as waterproof version (IP68) and are compatible with QLF standard.

QMA eXtreme – XQMA

QMA eXtreme – XQMA

QMA eXtreme is the advanced version of the waterproof QMA, combining the quick-lock mechanism and waterproof properties also in rough environmental conditions. The coupling mechanism is completely waterproof and not only the RF signal path, thus protecting the connector from corrosion in a salty atmosphere and from freezing in case of high humidity and low temperature.

HUBER+SUHNER QN coaxial connectors are available with 50 ohm impedance. The frequency range extends to 11 GHz, depending on the connector and cable type, however most of the QN connectors are return loss optimised for frequencies up to 6 GHz. The interface is based on the inner dimensions of the N connector, but, instead of a threaded coupling mechanism, a snap-lock mechanism is used. The QN interface has a very similar performance to N, but in addition it offers an easier, faster and safe coupling operation, helping the customers to save significantly on time during production of their systems. The packaging density of QN increased compared to N thanks to the fact that no torque spanner is required to fasten the coupling nut. Additionally the outer dimensions of QN are smaller than N, leading to the advantage that even TNC-size flanges can be used at QN connectors.

QN eXtreme – XQN

QN eXtreme – XQN

Besides the outstanding characteristics of the quick-lock connector QN, this advanced version has some extra features. The coupling mechanism is completely waterproof and not only the RF signal path, thus protecting the complete connector from corrosion in a salty atmosphere and from freezing in case of high humidity and low temperatures. This extra features besides the excellent PIM performance (typical -162 dBc) and the optimum power performance (≈350 W by 2 GHz) makes this connector the ideal solution for antenna connections.

HUBER+SUHNER PC 1.85 connectors are precision connectors for use in microwave applications up to 65 GHz. The connectors features best electrical performance, excellent mechanical stability as well as extreme reliability. They are particularly well suited for semi-rigid, semi-flexible and flexible microwave cables. PC 1.85 is intermateable with PC 2.4.

PC 3.5

PC 3.5

HUBER+SUHNER PC 3.5 connectors are precision connectors for use in microwave applications up to 26.5 GHz. They are especially suitable for use with semi-rigid cables and microwave components. They are intermateable with SMA and SK (2.92 mm) connectors. Due to an air dielectric interface and the more durable construction a superior repeatability further enhances the performance.

HUBER+SUHNER SK connectors are precision connectors for microwave applications up to 40 GHz. They are intermateable with series SMA and PC 3.5. They have a high mechanical stability and an excellent repeatability. The shortened male pin ensures a non-destructive mating process. The glass beads, when used in conjunction with the SK launchers, enable the connectors to be replaced without disturbing the hermetic seal. For a mechanical decoupling between glass bead and internal microwave circuit, stress relief contacts are available.

HUBER+SUHNER SMA connectors are precision connectors for microwave applications up to 18 GHz. The extended frequency version operates with excellent return loss performances up to 26.5 GHz. There is a huge variety of applications for SMA connectors, as in telecom, test and measurement, instruments, avionics, etc. SMA is classified into the two categories HUBER+SUHNER standard SMA connectors for high-end applications or applications subject to rough conditions and HUBER+SUHNER ECO SMA connectors for high volume.

Microwave cable assemblies

HUBER+SUHNER SUCOFLEX flexible microwave cable assemblies offer superior electrical and mechanical performance for static and dynamic applications. This series is a high-end product designed to provide optimal performance up to 50 GHz, where stringent electrical requirements, in particular electrical stability and low loss, are important. Ideally suited for test and measurement applications and defense systems. Additional lightweight high-end versions are designed to meet the stringent needs of space flights systems (i.e. satellites) and aerospace systems (aircrafts, helicopters, missiles), which are subject to extremely severe operating conditions. SUCOFLEX is only available as assembly.

HUBER+SUHNER TL-8A assemblies are designed for testing components or equipments up to 8 GHz with network analyser (NA). This economical assembly family is made with a PE foamed double screened cable and protected with an armouring using a moulded cable entry. The excellent electrical performance combined with a high mechanical endurance is ideal for use in test labs and in operations.

HUBER+SUHNER TL-P assemblies are designed for indoor and outdoor applications where passive intermodulation (PIM) has to be tested. This assembly family is based on a flexible cable which is optimised up to 4 GHz and protected with steel armouring. The robust design is completed with a moulded protection between connector and cable.

High temperature coaxial cables

The PTFE/FEP cables of our RG/K series are designed for applications up to 200 °C and are characterised by low losses, especially at high frequencies. The Enviroflex cables do not contain fluorine plastics either in the dielectric nor in the jacket and thus provide a robust and environmentally friendly option.

The environmental friendly alternative extends the selection with cost-effective RF cables for less demanding applications. Thanks to the mechanical compatibility with RG cables the Enviroflex basic products can easily be designed-in using existing connectors.

The Enviroflex cable family enables users to quickly switch from fluorine-containing cables to halogen-free alternatives. The materials used in the cable design – both for the dielectric and for the jacket – do not include any fluorine-consisting plastics. The dimensions of the individual cable types are entirely compatible with the international RG standards. Standard connectors can be used without any restrictions with the Enviroflex cable family. HUBER+SUHNER´s control of various key technologies has proven to be an invaluable advantage.

HUBER+SUHNER high temperature coax cables are designed for applications up to 200 °C, depending on the material selection of the cable. Cable types out of this portfolio provide lowest loss especially at high frequency thanks to PTFE dielectric material.

Flexible flow loss cables

The product series Spuma, S and SX provide lowest attenuation, high flexibility and optimal shielding. Products from the Spuma series are similar to the LMR® products from Times Microwave. The series with LSFH jacket material and the radiation crosslinked SX series with the RADOX® jacket offer extremely high flame protection.

HUBER+SUHNER low loss coaxial cables with foamed PE dielectric have been carefully designed for excellent electrical performance focusing on low loss, high velocity, high power and low VSWR. These flexible coaxial cables feature greatly improved cable bending characteristics, which make them ideal for use in limited spaces and where multiple bends are required. Ideal for use in critical antenna system applications.

The HUBER+SUHNER Spuma product family stands for lowest loss with halogen free materials. Shielding and VSWR are optimised up to 6 GHz. The cables are more flexible than corrugated ones, allowing easier handling and installation. Tight bending radii are possible. With this set of features, Spuma can support a multitude of application in various industries, including railway, defense, communication, instrumentation and others. Spuma products can also be used as drop-in replacement for LMR® (LMR® is a brand of Times Microwave Inc.).

The flame retardant Spuma cables provide great flame retardancy making the range viable for rolling stock and indoor applications. These are railway approved according to EN 45545-2 and NFPA 130.

Spuma RS FR is the most flexible cable from Spuma family. The patented rotary swaging (RS) technology (low-loss strand) allows to overcome the common trade-off between flexibility and low attenuation. Furthermore, the new TPU jacket material provides flame retardancy without compromising on flexibility.

SX cables

HUBER+SUHNER cross-linking technology in combination with low loss dielectrics makes this product portfolio outstanding. Cross-linking allows the maximum application temperature of polyethylene to be increased from +85 to +105 °C. This extended range covers most applications. It allows operation in a higher power range, and connectors with soldered inner conductors can be easily applied.
