At HUBER+SUHNER, careers are not defined by titles, but by trust, growth, and the space to make an impact. In this second part of our series, we share how our colleagues take ownership, balance work with life and how career paths may look like. Because at HUBER+SUHNER, being yourself is your greatest strength to empower people to thrive.
Elisabeth Barna Hostettler, Team Lead Material Technology in Switzerland: “I started as a material development engineer 16 years ago. I did a lot of training to specialise in the job, and a few years ago I had the opportunity to take over as a team lead. That presented me with completely new challenges, and I was pleased to accept them.” Elisabeth’s journey reflects a workplace where development is not only encouraged but expected.
Fio Lu, VP Sales Industrials in China: “I joined HUBER+SUHNER 17 years ago. I deal with a range of topics in my job, including sales strategies, marketing analysis, and building solid relationships with customers in different markets.” Fio’s long-standing career reflects the trust and autonomy we place in our people. At HUBER+SUHNER, different paths lead to shared success – and long-term development is more than a promise, it’s a practice.
Romina Breu works as a S&OP Improvement Specialist in Switzerland at HUBER+SUHNER: “It is the perfect combination of family and work life. I work 50 percent and have adjusted my workload twice in the last six years. I was on maternity leave and have been able to develop my career at the same time.” Romina’s experience shows that flexibility is more than a policy; it’s a mindset. At HUBER+SUHNER, we put people at the centre of what we do, supporting every stage of life and career. Prior to her current role Romina worked as a Global Segment Demand Planner for HUBER+SUHNER.
Also Johanna Asher, our VP Sales Industrials Americas in the US, knows that balancing a career and private life can present a challenge: “HUBER+SUHNER was very kind to me when I had a younger child and needed to be a little more flexible in my work life. That was very much appreciated. I felt like they cared about me and my family, not just the bottom line.” Johanna’s story is a reminder that respect and care are not extras, they are an essential of our culture.
Maria Jozwicka, Technical Project & Program Manager in Switzerland: “Everyone here is very open and the environment is very diverse. From the very beginning I felt included in the team. What I also enjoy a lot is that I can still connect the research work and work on innovation and develop new ideas.” Maria’s role in the Radio Frequency components team allows her to bridge academic research with real-world innovation. Maria started as a Radio Frequency Engineer before she recently changed into Technical Project & Program Manager.
From apprentices to executives, from Switzerland to China, our people shape HUBER+SUHNER every day. They lead with purpose, grow with confidence, and support one another across borders and segments. We aim to be a workplace where different paths lead to shared success and where openness meets excellence. We value people for who they are and what they bring to the table, as individuals and as teammates.
Our Global Head of Learning & Development Tom Russenberger: "In today’s dynamic business environment, careers are no longer defined by rigid paths but by individual journeys shaped by talent, passion, continuous learning, and the courage to seize opportunities. That’s what makes each career at HUBER+SUHNER unique."
Every career path is unique, but at HUBER+SUHNER, they’re all shaped by passion, care, and accountability. Watch the video to learn more and meet some of our colleagues.
