Small Cells

Small Cells
The growing number of smart mobile devices is challenging the capacity of wireless networks. The most efficient technique to increase capacity is to re-use frequency by installing significantly more cell sites.

Small is beauty
Small Cells, low-powered outdoor access nodes with a typical range of 10 to several hundred metres, provide a cost-effective way of increasing the number of cell sites. This, in turn, improves coverage on city streets and in buildings such as airports, train stations, shopping malls and sports stadiums which are otherwise difficult to reach using traditional macro cells. Because of their smaller power and size and the fact that they can be deployed discretely in buildings and metropolitan street infrastructures (e.g. bus stops, advertising hoardings, etc.), Small Cells and their cabling infrastructure also differ significantly from typical macro cell RRH installations.

HUBER+SUHNER, the global leader in remote radio head connectivity solutions for macro cells has developed a product portfolio that specifically addresses the needs of Small Cell deployments. It comprises an entire family of robust and easy-to-install fiber optic cable systems designed to start, extend and complete daisy chain installations in order to connect remote radio heads with base stations. The portfolio is complemented by radio frequency jumpers, MIMO antennas and flat panel antennas for mm-wave backhauls.

Rugged outdoor as well as indoor solutions complete the offering.
