• Cooled charging cable wins Bavarian State Award for Electric Mobility

    HUBER+SUHNER has developed a cooled charging cable with a cooled connector that enables electric vehicles to be charged fully within an extremely short period of time.  The leading global manufacturer of components and systems for electrical and optical connectivity has been granted the Bavarian State Award in the category “Energy Infrastructure & Storage” at the eCarTec 2016 Munich.

Stadler Rail is delivering 29 new trains for the Swiss railway company to operate on its high speed and transalpine routes, including the new Gotthard Base Tunnel route.

    HUBER+SUHNER and Bombardier Transportation

    After more than 20 years of successful collaboration, Bombardier Transportation has named HUBER+SUHNER as A-supplier for its cable requirements. Bombardier intends to equip existing and new rolling stock throughout the world predominantly with RADOX® EN and GKW cables. In the future, majority of cables in trains and metro carriages manufactured by Bombardier will be based on HUBER+SUHNER connectivity solutions.

    Deutsche Bahn relies on fiber optics and RADOX

    The ICE 3 train has been travelling through Germany at speeds of up to 300 km/h since the year 2000. The time has now come for a redesign. Germany's fastest train is to be fitted with modern passenger information systems and a high speed network. In a total of 67 trains copper and fiber optic cables from HUBER+SUHNER will be used to connect the backbone with all devices.

    Connecting the Seoul Metro

    Since its opening in 1974, the Seoul Metro has remained the most popular and convenient mode of transportation for locals and tourists alike. Carrying over 5.5 million people per day, the train cars have been victim to wear and tear. Last year, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced plans to replace 600 train carriages of Seoul Metro’s Line 2 stock, the most heavily used line on the network.

    On 30 May 2016 HUBER+SUHNER signed the contracts to take over Polatis, a group headquartered in Bedford, MA (USA) and Cambridge, UK with USD 13 million sales and 110 employees. Polatis develops, produces and sells all-optical network switches. This innovative technology enables improved capacity utilisation in data centers and advanced data management in large telecommunication networks.

    4G LTE-Network in Brazilian Shopping Centre

    The shopping centre RioMar in Fortaleza, Brazil was opened on 29 October 2014 and is fully equipped with an overall mobile network (2G, 3G and 4G) and is used by four network providers. The building was equipped by HUBER+SUHNER with an active DAS-System that enables the coverage of the mobile network inside the shopping centre.
