HUBER+SUHNER: Return to 40-hour week from March 2016
HUBER+SUHNER and the employee representatives in Pfaeffikon and Herisau have agreed to cancel the increase in working hours introduced as a result of the currency crisis. Normal working hours of 40 h per week will be resumed from 1 March 2016.
The immediate measures introduced in February 2015 made a crucial contribution towards helping the company to mitigate the economic effects of the extreme appreciation of the Swiss franc.
Immediate measures in Switzerland included a hiring freeze, an increase in working hours to 43 h per week, a temporary reduction in the remuneration of the Board of Directors and corporate management by 10% and of target cadre pay by 5%. The structural measures initiated in May are now successively demonstrating their impact and will compensate for the cancelled savings generated by the immediate measures during the 2016 financial year.
Urs Kaufmann, CEO of HUBER+SUHNER: "The cost pressure on Swiss locations remains high. However, the personal contributions of employees at all levels have played a decisive role in enabling HUBER+SUHNER to start into 2016 out of a solid position. I would like to express my sincere thanks to all employees for their loyalty and great understanding."
