Can you reduce cable size without sacrificing performance?
Conventional corrugated tubes trap heat around high voltage cables, often requiring larger conductors and more copper.
RADOX® high voltage cables dissipate heat more efficiently, eliminating the need for a corrugated tube in many applications. This allows a 70 mm² RADOX® cable to deliver the same current-carrying capability as a 95 mm² cable in a tube, while reducing weight, cost and cable diameter.

What is RADOX®?
RADOX® stands for "radiation X-linked" and describes the process of crosslinking thermoplastic polymers by means of electron beams. HUBER+SUHNER has been using this technology, which was developed in-house since the 1970s to achieve notable improvements in the thermal, mechanical and chemical properties of the cable insulation material.

Introducing the RADOX® 185 mm2: a new high voltage FLEX screened cable for intensive EV applications
HUBER+SUHNER has introduced the RADOX® 185 mm² FLEX screened high‑voltage cable for heavy‑duty EV applications such as mining, agriculture and marine. Designed for harsh environments, it offers high abrasion, pressure and chemical resistance, remains flexible from -40 °C to 150 °C, and delivers strong performance at high AC currents. Despite its large cross‑section, it requires up to 30 % less bending force than standard cables—providing durability, flexibility and reliability for intensive electric‑vehicle operations.
Combining RADOX® HV & TE HIVONEX connections for better EV performance
To improve the durability and reliability of the high voltage assembly in electric vehicles, HUBER+SUHNER and TE developed a joint solution combining RADOX® high voltage screened EV cables with TE’s PowerTube connectors, assembled using Electromagnetic Pulse Technology (EMPT). The result delivers robust, vibration‑resistant, 360° EMC‑shielded connections that withstand extreme temperatures and meet stringent safety approvals. With in‑house EMPT capability and configurable pigtail lengths, HUBER+SUHNER can rapidly support prototypes and small‑series builds, helping OEMs accelerate development while ensuring long‑term connection performance.
