In brief

•    HUBER+SUHNER has successfully completed its global conversion to SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud, marking a major milestone in the company's digital transformation.

•    This modern digital backbone establishes a unified foundation for operational excellence, enhanced transparency, and closer collaboration with customers and suppliers.

•    Building on this foundation, HUBER+SUHNER is now well positioned to accelerate innovation through AI-enabled business capabilities and future digital solutions.

HUBER+SUHNER has successfully completed the global conversion of its enterprise resource planning (ERP) landscape from SAP ERP (R/3) to SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud, achieving one of the company's most significant digital transformation milestones to date.

SAP S/4HANA was deployed in a single global go-live across HUBER+SUHNER's entire business footprint, supporting more than 4’200 employees at 18 production sites and operations serving customers in over 80 countries. Core business processes and business-critical interfaces were operational from day one, enabling a seamless transition and ensuring uninterrupted business operations for employees, customers and suppliers.

A digital backbone for future growth

The SAP S/4HANA conversion builds on last year’s migration of HUBER+SUHNER's SAP landscape to Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the upgrade of the underlying database to SAP HANA. The new cloud operating model provides greater scalability, resilience and security, while enabling faster deployment of new capabilities and easier integration with cloud-based services.

The modern digital backbone will be a key enabler of HUBER+SUHNER's future growth, driving operational excellence and accelerating innovation. For instance, by introducing SAP's modern Fiori user interface and embedding its AI assistant into core business systems, employees will be able to make faster, better-informed decisions, improving efficiency across supply chain management, procurement, and order fulfilment. At the same time, enhanced supply chain transparency, streamlined processes, and simpler integration with customers' and suppliers' digital ecosystems will strengthen collaboration with partners across the value chain. Over time, these capabilities will enable faster response times, more reliable planning and delivery, and higher service levels.

"The successful conversion has established the digital backbone that will enable HUBER+SUHNER's future as a data-driven and AI-enabled eneterprise."

Alexander Graf, Chief Information Officer, HUBER+SUHNER

The successful conversion reflects 14 months of dedication and close collaboration across HUBER+SUHNER's global organisation. More than 300 colleagues from IT, business and implementation partners – from Mexico to Australia – were involved.

While the SAP S/4HANA conversion marks the completion of a major transformation milestone, it also lays the foundation for what comes next. A roadmap of innovation initiatives is already in place to build on this new digital backbone and continuously deliver value to our customers, employees and partners.

What the new digital backbone enables

•    A single, standardised SAP S/4HANA platform across the global enterprise

•    Greater scalability, resilience and security through a cloud operating model

•    Faster deployment of new capabilities and easier integration with cloud services

•    The foundation for advanced automation and future AI-enabled business capabilities
